PREPARATIONS are underway for this year’s 19th annual Rotary Easter Art Show.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Kerang, this year’s event will feature more than 400 artworks by more than 100 artists.
Rotary Club of Kerang president Ron Kelly said there had been strong interest in the show, with entries from across Victoria and regional New South Wales.
“The Art Show will again showcase our local artists and their many talents that are becoming well known in our region,” Mr Kelly said.
“In addition, there will be demonstrations, displays and sales from local artisans in the fields of metal sculptures, unframed artworks, photography, woodwork, quilts, and much more.”
The event is a major fundraiser for the Rotary Club, with proceeds being redirected back into the local community.
“Proceeds from the art show and raffle will be used to support the many local community and international programs and projects of our Rotary Club,” Mr Kelly said, adding the show wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for the ongoing support of the club’s valued sponsors.
The art show will feature a diverse range of art work, including paintings, drawings, mixed mediums and photography.
“The extremely high standard of art on display is a huge credit to the very talented artists and Rotary is merely providing the cultural experience for the general public to view and the opportunity to make a purchase in a comfortable environment,” Mr Kelly said.
The celebrations will commence with the official opening on Good Friday, with the show continuing across the weekend.
