Tuesday twilight golf

A better roll up for twilight this week and Jordan Simpson continued he’s good form to win with 41 – 10 = 31 from ever improving Sadie Spitty, who had 56 – 22 = 33 and Joel Gray 47 – 12.5 = 34.5. Nearest the pin on the 9th was Joe Tartaglia.

Remember Twilight is open to everyone. Tee off is 5pm onwards, all are welcome.

Wednesday ladies

Deanne Free (33) joined us this week from Lakeside and had a great round of 36 points with two 5 pointers!! That’s birdies on 5th and 17th, well done Deanne. Michelle Dillon continued to be beaten on countbacks, that was No4.

In the Ball Pool, Jenny Waterson (15) had 32 points with Jill Marshall (31) 31 points and Meryl Cameron (13) also 31 points. NTP Chino’s 9th was Jenny Waterson.

Next Week is Monthly Medal Shirt, hit-off at 9.30 am.

Thursday R&R Stableford

Twenty-one golfers were on hand to see and congratulate Andrew Spitty, who shot a new course record of 66 and 37 points, (playing off +4) to better his previous record of 67. He started with a birdie on the 1st, then had birdies on the 4th and 6th unfortunately had a bogie on 9th and on the back nine had birdies on 10, 11 and 15 and parred the rest so well-done Andrew. According to Capt. Jack, (who played in his group), it was a pleasure to play with a golfer who could play brilliant golf!

But not to be out done, was our winner on 43 points, none other than Wayne Cook. What a great effort Wayne.

Ball Pool was A. Spitty 37, T. Laughlin 34, D. Ellwood 34, R. Taylor & G. Wyte 33.

NTP’s 3rd M. Heavyside (Who brought his father along for a game, you’re a good boy Matthew), 5th R. Schultze, 9th J. Tartaglia, 13th G. Wyte and no one was good enough to hit 16.

Ex-postie Peter Wilson will be able to write some letters after winning the coveted Pen Award.

Saturday Golf

We played Par on Saturday and mixed in a 4B as well and the winners of the 4B was Joe Tartaglia and Doug Ellwood with 45pts from captain Jack and Jonesy on 43. Winner of the day was Joe Tartaglia (15) with a massive 7 up, I’m guessing he won’t be off 15 next week, from David Wood (11) and Peter Hall (13) both on +2.

Ladies winner with a welcome return to form was Jenny Waterson (15) winning with -1 from Nola Robinson (27) and Michelle Dillon (9) who were both on 3 down.

The ball pool was David Wood, Peter Hall, Chris Waterson (4) +1, Scott Harry (12), Tony Laughlin (9), Jack Hewitt (11) all had square and Doug Meehan (6) got the last Ball with -1. Best on the par 3’s were Gary King, a visitor, 3rd, Tony Laughlin 5th, Scott Worner 9th, Chris Waterson won the money on 13th and Jim Apostolelis got the goods on the 16th.

Our pennant side played against Nyah West at Cohuna for a place in the finals, Kerang was defeated 2 and 1.

Don’t forget there are a few tournaments coming up so check the board and get some teams organised for those days and I will hope to see you all there.Cohuna

DN “The Putter” Potter is back. Don managed to amass 38 point last Thursday and come out on top of a 3 way countback to take the Major prize for the R&R Crew.

Ron Farrant is also showing form after his holiday, so look out CGC, I think he will be featuring strongly in these reports in the next few weeks.

John Corry has also been among the winners recently and he also scored 38 points.

Brian Roberts had a very solid 37 and we are hoping for another good performance from him on Sunday (aren’t we, Brian).

NTP’s went to Don “HMV” Magick on 2, Murray “No Shame” Johnson on 11 and club V/C Rob Wilson. On Saturday, Don Magick featured again taking first prize with 37 points, from Murray Johnson in a countback from Ron Farrant and Troy Van Der Zande with 36 points a piece. Kilmore visitor, Mario Maddalena had the NTP on 2, Ted Jackson played a cracker on 8 and Bruce Bird will sweeten up after his good shot on 11.

On Sunday, the ladies played Par and it was Linda Moloney who had a great day with +3.

Robyn McGraw and Genevieve Hare were split on countback with +1 to take out 2nd and 3rd prizes. Sandra Griffith was the only NTP awarded for the ladies for her good shot on the 2nd.

For the men, it was a Stroke competition and Liam Pascoe proved to the best on the day with nett71.

Tim Mitchell scored 74, Dennis McGlone 75 and Trevor Farrant 76.

Trevor also took the NTP on 2, Kyeran Ellery on 8 and Geoff Miller on 11.

Our pennant team are in the final next week after beating Balranald at home 2 matches to 1.

The club is right behind you boys, and we wish the very best of luck.
