Learn how to apply for grants

COMMUNITY groups, not-for-profits and individuals seeking funding are encouraged to attend grant writing workshops in the region this month.

The six interactive workshops from March 24-27, presented by Keith Whelan, known as The Grants Guy, will provide practical tools and strategies to help people navigate the grant application process with confidence.

Attendees will learn how to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and enhance their chances of securing grants.

The workshops are free to attend with limited places.

The Grants Guy workshops are a joint initiative brought to communities across Gannawarra, Balranald, Swan Hill and Murray River councils.

Mr Whelan said he became known as The Grants Guy when he stated writing and proof reading grants for organisations in 2012.

“The mantle has stuck so much that people now ring asking to speak to The Grants Guy,” he said

“I am very proud of my new name and the work I have done since the genesis of the business for numerous organisations throughout Australia.”

Gannawarra Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said community groups across the region will benefit from The Grants Guy’s expertise about the grant application process.

Murray River Council Mayor John Harvie encouraged local groups or committee members to attend.

“This workshop is a great opportunity for community organisations and individuals to improve their grant writing skills and increase their chances of funding success,” he said.

“It is widely recognised that Keith’s sessions are engaging and informative, with expert insights and real-world examples to help participants build their knowledge of the grant writing process.”
