Speaking of Owen Suter, which I wasn’t, I believe his scooter has been geared up a notch or two. He was seen the other day heading to grab some lunch at about 3pm and the vehicle was flat out – obviously because Owen was a bit peckish.

Always the gentleman, Owen would only cut it loose when the pathway was clear. All the very best to you, Mr Suter.

I was at Murray Goulburn in Cohuna last week and manager Wes was helping with some info, then he went out the back to help a customer, as he must. But it was then that the shop got busy. We couldn’t find Wes, he’d just disappeared, but Peter Fallon handled it all with aplomb. Great job, Peter. Where was Wes when you needed him?

Local handy man Daryl Neil has caught a decent-sized cod and is very happy with himself. Caught on a yabby, the monster measured 125cm.

This all happened the morning of April 12. Easter had finished, so I thought that Daryl should have been working, but he loves his fishing and obviously took a few days off for some well-deserved recreation.

Kerang Cricket Club held their Declan Hogg award show on Friday at the Exchange Hotel. Declan won the batting and bowling averages along with the most runs and wickets (he shared the wickets with Tyler Schmidt). He missed out on the most dismissals, as that was won by Captain Alex Lloyd. Well done to all concerned.

A special award from president Anthony Lake was awarded to Derek Hartshorn as the club player award. Players like this will see the club come back stronger in 2021-22.

John Ainger was seen in town the other day and all he wanted was a cappuccino. The problem was it was about 3.30 in the arvo and John’s usual spots to grab a coffee weren’t open. We probably didn’t think hard enough John, because I’m sure we could have found a spot for a cuppa.

Kurly isn’t too sure that the MCG should be permitted to host up to 75,000 fans on ANZAC Day, when just a few hours earlier the ANZAC Day march will be limited to only 1400. This doesn’t make a lot of sense. The MCG crowd is cooped up in one place, while the ANZAC march is moving.

If 1400 are permitted in Melbourne then the local marches will surely be full steam ahead.

While drive the other day I noticed that Max Maclean had pulled over in the black ute and was attempting to get his watch on the correct time.

The only problem was it is one of those watches that you need a degree in engineering to operate. Push that button then that one, then turn the knob and that will change the time – or does that change the date? He may still be trying to get it on to 2 o’clock.

I received an interesting question from an inquisitive seven-year-old that I couldn’t answer. The question was “How did the virus start?” We know that bats got it but how did they get it?

Even when we were getting all scientific we couldn’t answer that question. We would probably be getting back to the big bang where it all started. But all credibility is shot. Stumped by a seven-year-old!

Some visitors from the central coast of NSW have informed me that the Victoria’s QR codes are not as good as the NSW ones. Yep, I can believe that.

Maybe problem we have is that not every place uses the Service State Government Contact tracing check in. There are so many different programs.

While on the subject of digital stuff, the first round of local footy will see the on-line version of the footy record be used in local leagues.

Wonder how that will go when we are out at Macorna, which is a recognised bad service area.

Paddy, the electrician, got sacked from the U.S. Prison service for not servicing the electric chair.

He said in his professional opinion it was a death trap!
