NDLTA season wraps up

SATURDAY was pleasant for the Northern District Lawn Tennis Association grand finals.

It was great to welcome Moulamein into the NDLTA this season and a fabulous achievement by them to make grand finals in their first season in the competition but unfortunately for them Gunbower were just too good on the day and determined to defend their ownership of the Division 2 premiership cup for another season.

Words that stood out in the speeches from all divisions and were absolutely true were that there were some great matches played and in some instances in tennis the scores do not reflect the intensity of the sets.

Thanks to the CluBarham greenkeepers and maintenance staff for the excellent presentation of the courts and surrounds and to CluBarham as the major sponsor of the day.

Thanks to the many from the BDSM Barham Lawn Tennis Club and Moulamein Tennis Club members who helped with setting up for the day, catering, serving in the bar, packing up, etc.

Thanks also to NDLTA executives Tim, Susan, and Wes and recoding officer Kaylene for the running of the 2024/25 NDLTA season and organisation for the finals.

We look forward to the 2025/26 season that will commence in October 2025.

GRAND FINAL results – March 1

Senior Div 1: Gunbower 67 lost to Cohuna 88

Senior Div 2: Gunbower 87 defeated Moulamein 58

Juniors: Barham Navy 37 lost to Murrabit 45

Congratulations to the premiers, Cohuna, Gunbower and Murrabit.
