INSPIRING and influential farmer Kaitie Nash will be the guest speaker at a long lunch in Barham in March to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Hosted in Riverside Park, with catering by Koondrook’s Long Paddock Food Store, the event is an opportunity to celebrate local women and hear some inspirational stories on rural life from Ms Nash.
Murray River Council acting chief executive Sarah Ryan said the event was a great opportunity to connect with other women in the local community.
“It will be a fun and relaxed event where attendees can enjoy great company, amazing food and be inspired by stories from our special guest, Kaitie,” Ms Ryan said.
“It’s also a great opportunity for community members to come together, meet new people and mark the achievements of the remarkable women in our lives.”
Ms Nash is a city girl turned first time farmer, navigating the challenges of rural life with humour and humility.
Since joining her husband’s family farm in 2018, she has faced several challenges that tested her resilience and determination.
In November 2023, Ms Nash chose to share her journey online, connecting with people worldwide and showcasing the realities of farm life.
“Through her authentic storytelling, Kaitie aims to inspire others as they embark on their first time farmer journeys, by providing a sense of belonging and raising awareness about the importance of agriculture in our lives,” Ms Ryan said.
Tickets to the March 7 event are $40 and includes lunch and non-alcoholic refreshments.
The event will be held on March 7 from 11.30am-2pm. Book online at www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1348663
