All smiles for story time

GRANDPARENTS and their children gathered at the local library last week for a morning filled with smiles and laughter as they celebrated the Victorian Seniors Festival.

The Kerang Sir John Gorton Library hosted a special grandparents morning which involved a range of activities, songs and an interactive story time.

Sir John Gorton Library programs officer Pia Frisby told the Gannawarra Times that grandparents played a substantial role in a child’s life and their development.

“A close relationship between a grandparent and grandchild can bring happiness and a sense of wellbeing to the entire family,” she said.

“Simply put, having grandparents around is good for everyone, and the more we include them, the better.”

The activities were based around the popular children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
