The 11th-placed Magpies kept pace with the Kangas during the first three quarters before the league’s southernmost side kicked nine unanswered goals in the final term.
Five-time defending premiers, Kerang remain on top of the ladder, with Woorinen second on percentage.
The Mallee Eagles – which also had the bye alongside the Blues, Nyah-Nyah West United and Swan Hill – remains third.
