IT’S the great smoke screen pushing for activities in the Gannawarra Shire that are simply not needed.
Rates are high enough now let alone more wasted spending on an adequate and totally approved by the Air Ambulance people (some two odd years ago) Cohuna airstrip.
After recent construction work at a cost of more than $300,000 part of which, was ratepayers’ money, the strip was widened, drainage improved and pilot-activated lights installed etc.
A helicopter pad is strategically placed at Cohuna District Hospital, where it should be.
Talking about, as the article did, airstrip diversions, maybe an explanation should have been given as to why they were diverted?
Surely this article needs no further discussion/debate.
Trevor Powis,
Ratepayer and for many ratepayers.
