Event’s continuing support

A SPORTING group’s support of a major annual multi-sport event will provide continued assistance to the Lions Club of Cohuna.

Leitchville Bunyip Sporting Club recently handed over a $750 donation to the club after catering for participants at last month’s Bridge to Bridge event.

Bunyips members provided a barbecue breakfast for patrons and visitors to the Gunbower Island event, held on the first Sunday in March.

The donation will be added to proceeds raised through the two-day event, with 75 per cent to go to Cohuna District Hospital and the remaining funds to be donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

The support adds to the Bunyips’ 55-year record of raising and donation valuable money to community organisations.

Such funds have assisted a wide range of groups such as the Cohuna Aged Care, the hospital, ambulance service and Cohuna Chaplaincy as well as various primary and secondary schools.
