CMFNL – Blues challenged, Raiders dominant

KERANG and Koondrook/Barham remain entrenched in the Central Murray Football Netball League top three after wins at the weekend.

The Blues held off a fast-finishing Woorinen at the Tigers’ home ground, whilst the Raiders were too strong against the Cohuna Kangas.

Kerang dominated the opening three quarters of its match at Woorinen, before the home side mounted a final term comeback to win by five points.

Troy Thamm and Luke Cotchett kicked three goals each in the Blues’ sixth win of the season, adding another chapter to the rivalry between the 2012 grand finalists.

Across at Cohuna, the Raiders recorded a fifth consecutive win, defeating the Kangas by 48 points.

The border side led at every change, with the margin extending from two goals throughout the opening half to 37 points at the final break.

Daniel Mowat kicked four goals for the Raiders, with Kokwam Niki the sole multiple goalkicker for the Kangas.
