TWO of last weekend’s winning sides will meet at Tooleybuc in one of the Central Murray Football Netball League’s matches of the round.
Four-time reigning premiers, Kerang will travel to take on Tooleybuc/Manangatang at a venue the Blues have not played at since round two, 2013.
Both sides have featured in the past two finals series, with many experts predicting the Saints to be one of the sides to feature in the final four weeks of the season.
Both the Blues and Saints recorded convincing wins last weekend – Tooleybuc/Manangatang accounted for Balranald by 50 points, and a 15-minute period in the third term set up Kerang’s 53-point win against Koondrook/Barham.
Some of the CMFNL’s top players will feature in individual battles tomorrow, each critical to the final result.
Saints ruckman, Ryan O’Sullivan will battle Troy Davis at every ball-up and throw in, with the pair to provide plenty of hit-outs to their respective midfielders.
Kerang co-coaches, Troy Coates and Travis Matheson will either give Mark Lloyd, Ryan Gillingham or Brandon Hayes the role to run with reigning Jack Betts Medallist, Nyaburu Kelly, with former Wakool player, Lockie Gleeson another key Saints player the Blues will need to take note of.
Mark Walter will be given the role to stop Stephen Lyons in goals for the Saints, with new recruit, Victor Caristo another danger player in the forward 50 for the home team.
Saints coach, Brad Morris will look to Ben Arentz and Jackson Morris to stop Kerang’s tall forward line, consisting of Troy Thamm and Luke Cotchett, from dominating for a second consecutive week.
An undermanned Kerang lost to the Saints by 26 points in the sole encounter between both sides last season, but the Blues will take a stronger side to Tooleybuc tomorrow.
PREDICTION: Kerang will win by 30 points.
