Kerang art show draws big crowd

THE Rotary Club of Kerang’s Annual Easter Art Show has been a massive success again, with nearly 500 pieces on display and some high quality pieces on display.

Art Show Coordinator Jenny Kelly has labelled the art show as a huge success and they had plenty of people in to visit the display over the three days.

“I think it has been hugely successful from both a Rotary point of view and also for our local artists,” she said.

“Quite a few of the local artists have received awards and made sales.”

“I feel like we have got a magnificent display of artwork, 470 pieces in total on show in the room.”

Alongside the collection of pieces from both near and far, there was also some extra displays from other local community groups.

Opening night was very successful and had Judge Jon Lam in attendance as well as Mayor Cr Charlie Gillingham in attendance for the announcement and presentation of the Shire of Gannawarra Acquisition Award.

The Kerang Cup was also on display on Friday night in preparation of the Kerang Cup on Saturday and to align with the Kerang Turf Club sponsoring the ‘Country Racing Strong’ category.

“Our opening night on Friday was really successful,” Mrs Kelly said.

“Saturday was very busy also, while we were probably steadiest on Sunday of all the three days.”

“I just want to acknowledge all of our sponsors of the art show who each year continue to amaze us with their ongoing support.”
