Perl’s performance brings laughter to Lake Charm

RENOWNED award-winning performer Jude Perl brought the excitement of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to Lake Charm on March 3 as part of Creative Gannawarra’s first supported performance for 2023.

More than 50 people enjoyed an evening of laughter at the Lake Charm Hall, headlined by Jude’s breakout show, Roommates: The Musical and a sumptuous supper provided by the Cooking Up A Storm Group.

“It was fantastic to have Jude return to the Gannawarra, with her local fanbase growing following her recent performance and when she came to the area in 2021 for her I Have A Face tour,” Gannawarra Shire Council chief executive Geoff Rollinson said.

“Roommates: The Musical highlighted Jude’s ability to tell a story through lyrics, in this instance the shared house of our mind and how these different parts of us interact.

“The evening also showcased how important it is for our smaller communities to have the opportunity to host renowned performers like Jude.”

The next Creative Gannawarra-supported performance will occur at the Murrabit Hall on Sunday, May 21, featuring high profile Aboriginal singer-songwriter Nancy Bates.

Performance times and how to book tickets will be promoted on council’s website.
