Art and wellness to fore

RESIDENTS of all ages will benefit from events planned this month supported by flood recovery funding.

Six events will be held throughout the Gannawarra Shire made possible by council teaming up with local neighbourhood houses and support providers.

Two additional events have been planned as a partnership between Northern District Community Health and Women’s Health Loddon Mallee.

Community input into what creative programs residents would like to participate in was recently sought, with this feedback leading to the development of a program of events.

Events during July include:

  • School holiday art program with local artist Kerryn Finch at Kerang Neighbourhood House on July 6 and 7.
  • Floral arranging at the Quambatook Senior Citizens Hall on Sunday, July 9.
  • Floral workshop at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on Wednesday, July 12.
  • Women Rising – Empowering Flood Recovery gathering at Northern District Community Health, Cohuna, on Wednesday, July 19.
  • Textile relief printing (linocut) workshop with local artist Paul Oswin at Lake Charm Hall on Sunday, July 23.
  • Free Women in the Warra – Women, Workboots and Wellness luncheon at Tree Tops Scout Camp on Wednesday, July 26.
  • Art workshop from The Dandy Lion Studio at Murrabit Family Hub on Saturday, July 29.
