Park project roaring ahead in Gunbower

LIONS Park in Gunbower is being redeveloped into a more friendly spot on the bank of the Gunbower Creek for locals and visitors.

Campaspe Shire Council is leading the $1 million project, which, when complete, will include a natural play space, canoe launching pad, fishing jetty, picnic shelter, low-level bridge crossing and accessible footpaths.

Council said footpath constriction was progressing well, with 60 per cent completed.

Engineers are working on the structure of the barbecue shelter, and construction of the fishing platform is also underway.

Meanwhile, play equipment is due for delivery within the next month and timber carvings have been completed for pick-up.

The project is due to be completed in May.
