Australian theme holiday program at libraries

CHILDREN will be able to celebrate Australian icons as part of Gannawarra Library Service’s popular school holiday program, which begins today.

Three free activities will be held at the service’s Cohuna and Kerang branches across the two weeks, offering something for children of all ages.

School-aged children will enjoy creating Australian icon snow globes using special waterproof modelling clay at sessions occurring at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on today at 10.30am and the Cohuna Library on July 8 at 10.30am.

Children of all ages will also enjoy making their own cockatoo, koala, Bluey or Bingo during Australian biscuit decorating sessions planned for the Cohuna Library on July 4 at 10.30am and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on July 6 from 10.30am.

Meanwhile, the library service has also teamed up with local artist Lesa McKenzie for two Australian watercolour workshops.

Occurring at the Cohuna Library on June 29 from 2pm and Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on June 30 from 10.30am, children aged nine years and above will be able to create beautiful Australian landscapes and floral paintings.

All children participating are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, with bookings for each session essential. For more information or to book your spot, please phone 5452 1546.
