Kerang Show and Shine in top gear with new committee

A SHINY new committee has taken the wheel and revved things up for this weekend’s Kerang Show and Shine.

Held on Sunday at Alexander Park, the event was expected to draw cars and bikes from far and wide.

Long-time committee member Kelvin Burt praised the enthusiasm of the new committee.

“They’ve got some great ideas to keep the event growing including the first annual Harley Evo Fest, celebrating all Harley-Davidson bikes built with iconic evolution engines,” he said.

Also returning is the successful invitational category for vehicles that are “lusty, rusty, or trusty”.

There will be a demonstration by the Kerang Rock ‘N’ Roll Club, collectables, swap sites, a line up of every year Holden, and hundreds of cars and bikes.

Committee vice president Dave North said it was great to be involved.

“Long-term, we hope to encourage more people from out of town to visit Kerang by growing the event into a full weekend of activities,” he said.

“It’s about having an event celebrating car and bike culture that offers something for the exhibitors to see and do once they get here.

“That’s why we offer more than just cars and bikes.”

Members of the Kerang and District Vintage Car Club were great supporters of the event and already preparing their cars and bikes in anticipation.

Committee president Mark Arians said the event would be well catered by local service groups, including Kerang Lions, Cleo’s Kitchen, Northy’s Catering, Afghan dining and coffee vans.

All proceeds from the event will go to local charities.

Admission is $10 per adult, children free.

Patrons can also purchase raffle tickets for a wide range of goods donated by Autopro.
