MEETINGS will be held across the Gannawarra Shire from next month to lock in priorities determined in recent community engagement.
Residents in the Lakes District, Lalbert, Leitchville, Macorna/Tragowel, Murrabit/Myall/Benjeroop, and Quambatook communities have been working with council to shape community plans as part of the Connecting Gannawarra project.
Funded by the Agriculture-Dependent Community Resilience Project, the project built on community planning work undertaken since 2008.
“It has been great to see residents from these six communities take the time during March and early April to tell us what makes their community great and what improvements they would like to see occur,” chief executive Geoff Rollinson said.
“Project facilitators will spend the coming weeks collating all information received and will hold meetings with each community during May and June to determine that the community priorities you have identified are correct.
“From there, draft versions of community plans for each participating community will be developed, which will be available for further feedback later this year.”
