Ready to put on a show

PREPARATIONS are well under way for the 137th Kerang Show, taking place on Monday next week.

Show secretary Lorraine Morris said it has been a busy time for the committee in the lead-up to the show.

“We’ve had a lot of work going on,” she said.

“The grounds have been changed now, they’ve put down gravel and it’s all been watered and rolled to make it a better surface for the show.

“We’ve got new yards for the yard dogs, which were built by volunteers with materials that were provided for us.

“The Turf Club have also just put in a large shade area, so that will be great for the people attending the Dogs Victoria show.”

There are a lot of attractions and entertainment to be enjoyed at this year’s show, including Australian country music trio Jetty Road headlining the Kerang Country Music Show in the evening.

The band comprises twins Paula and Lee Bowman and multi-instrumentalist Julian Sammut, who have sung up a storm all over the world in recent years, alongside Taylor Swift, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill and Glen Campbell.

The show will also feature new, local band Four To The Bar singing well-known cover songs.

Other attractions include the Rev It Up Racing simulator, international motorbike rider Adrian Harry performing stunts, a mobile animal nursery and camel rides.

The sideshows are always a big draw, as well as a variety of food vendors.

Kerang Guides will again provide light meals in the turf club dining room.

Admission is $10 per adult, $8 per pensioner, $5 for children 15 years or under or free for pre-school (five and under). Family tickets are $25.
