WITH the rising cost of living, Christmas can be a stressful time for many people.
But the local community is doing its part to make sure no one has to go without this Christmas.
Each year Kerang and Cohuna churches put together hampers from toys donated to the Toy Drive, along with donations collected from the Northern District Community Health Tins and Toys Drive and other church and community donations.
People who receive hampers are nominated by community members and the receiver remains confidential.
NDCH specialist homelessness worker Anna Beamish told the Gannawarra Times there had been many kind donations from the community.
“There has been a lot of very generous donations of non-perishable foods and hamper items, as well as toys for the kids,” Ms Beamish said.
“From Boort to Cohuna to Quambatook and Pyramid Hill, the community is thinking of those who are less fortunate than them, as they have done every year.”
Ms Beamish thanked donors who supported the drive.
