Help with emergency planning

A MEMBER of the community willing to help oversee emergency management is being sought.

The Gannawarra Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee, which oversees emergency management across the municipality, needs to fill a community member vacancy.

The successful applicant will provide valuable local representation to the group.

The committee consists of representatives from across various emergency management agencies, including Victoria Police, Country Fire Authority, Ambulance Victoria, Fire Rescue Victoria, VICSES, Forest Fire Management Victoria, Department of Health, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Red Cross and Council.

“The Gannawarra Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee’s community representative plays a vital role in providing local knowledge to assist these agencies regarding emergency management planning,” said Council chief executive officer Geoff Rollinson.

“It would be beneficial if all applicants have a strong community link and an interest in emergency management.”

To complete an expression of interest, visit https://www.gannawarra.vic.gov.au/Council/Emergency-Management and click on the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee community member position before 2pm Friday, December 22.
