Back of the net for soccer club fund raiser

KERANG Soccer Club organisers Daniel Roberts and Daniel Michaels were a major part of the club’s Kits For Kids Soccer-a-thon on Wednesday and Thursday last week.

The idea of the fundraiser is to provide soccer guernseys, shorts and socks for players that will allow the club to play in their own kit against opposing competitions.

Soccer at the Kerang club is free, so money raised will prevent fees being introduced.

The soccer-a-thon started at 9am last Wednesday morning and continued through the night until 9am Thursday morning.

Kerang SES were at the event on Wednesday evening and provided lighting to allow play during the night.

While on the night shift, local police officer Travis Collier was there to test the speed of kicks with the radar gun in the early hours of Thursday morning.
