Webster to support town

FOLLOWING the recent tragedy of Quambatook resident Merril Kelly, Federal Member of Mallee Dr Anne Webster is set to visit the town this Tuesday in an effort to show her support for the affected community.

There will be an open talk at the Quambatook general store at 1.30 pm where Dr Webster will be able to respond to queries and concerns of residents.

“Unfortunately, with the untimely death of Merril Kelly, it is incredibly important to offer our support to the Quambatook community,” Dr Webster said.

“There is always a very long list of local towns and regions to periodically go through when planning these visits as well as organising the trips and meetings.

“So it is very important to us that we try and get to the communities that have been most affected by recent circumstances.”

“As a Mallee representative, it’s a good opportunity for local voices to raise council or state issues to someone who is willing to listen and offer their support.

“Hearing from a local source is very valuable and it provides more light on how the people really feel about issues.”
