STAR junior athlete Ron Dowdy has broken numerous records at the Kerang South Primary School 2022 athletics carnival.
Dowdy broke five records in the 12/13-year-old age group, including discus, shot put, long jump, high jump and hurdles, where he ran the event in 9.55 seconds.
Kerang South Primary School principal Lyn Veall praised the young gun athlete’s efforts.
“Some of these records have been very long-standing, so this was an incredible achievement,” Ms Veall said.
The rivalry between the two houses, tan and gold, was reignited with gold house taking home the trophy this year.
The trophy was accepted by gold house captain Ryan Tharaka and vice-captain Bryce Gordy.
It was fun all around as the students enjoyed their day in the sun, and Ms Veall couldn’t be happier with how the day went.
“It was great to see such a high level of participation with everyone trying their hardest and showing great sportsmanship.”
