Reading of children’s book launches holiday activities

FAMILIES will be able to celebrate the joy of nature and friendship these school holidays, with the Gannawarra Library Service hosting a special reading of The Wind in the Willows.

The Cohuna library will host a special reading of the Kenneth Grahame-written classic by Mr Badger on September 26 from 3pm.

The Wind in the Willows is a literary classic, with the escapades of Mole, Ratty, Badger and Mr Toad part of cultural folklore.

Mr Badger is renowned around Adelaide for his reading of this popular book.

Mr Badger’s reading is part of the Gannawarra Library Service’s school holiday program, occurring from September 20-28.

Children will be able to make their own miniature gardens during sessions occurring at Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library today, from 10.30am.

Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library is also hosting a diamond painting session tomorrow, from 10.30am, where children aged five years and older can make their own forest creature.

Bookings for all events are essential, with children attending needing to be accompanied by an adult.

For more information or to book, call the Cohuna library on 5456 2124 or Kerang’s Sir John Gorton Library on 5452 1546.
