Doubts over Lake Charm school

THE future of Lake Charm Primary School – which appeared decided when its own school council asked for it to be destaffed – remains under a cloud.

The motion by the town’s more progressive citizens and parents was based on enrolments for 2023.

There aren’t any.

But no final decision on the future of the school has been made, and the next move remains in the hands of the Education Minister.

That a school only a few years ago had more than 25 students.

Ultima school, about 30km from Swan Hill, is another that is barely keeping its remaining two or three students in a local setting but is coming under increased pressure to divert those children.
