Primary focus on goals

KERANG Primary School’s mantra is to focus on student learning so that every student is supported with opportunities to achieve their goals, according to principal Brenton Taylor.

“Whether it be learning about academia, community involvement or even how to get along with others,” he said.

“The expectations are high and the dedicated team of professional staff at Kerang Primary School guide the students along their learning journey.

“Inside the traditional facade of this historic school building is a plethora of modern and up-to-date educational learning programs and resources necessary to prepare our students as capable citizens of the 21st century.”

Mr Taylor said technology was a “massive” resource provided to achieve this.

“The allocation of individual student netbooks and iPad along with giant classroom Promethean boards add to achieving high student engagement and learning at Kerang Primary School,” he said.

“The recent refurbishment and upgrade to the school entrance foyer, office and classrooms gives the school a more modernised learning environment for the Kerang school community.

“Work is about to begin on upgrading the exterior of the building with all major fundraising going toward a new school playground for the students.”

The new running track was a well-used feature of the school, and members of the Kerang community were welcome to use it for personal fitness outside of school hours, as with the basketball-netball courts.

Mr Taylor said Kerang Primary School had always been at the heart of the local community and this tradition continues.

“Kerang Primary School is a school proud of its past and excited about its future,” he said.
