MORE than 40 enthusiastic Gannawarra Shire grades 4, 5 and 6 students took part in the Rotary Club of Kerang’s 24th spelling bee.
The winners were Kerang Christian College Grade 4 student Wesley Richard, Koondrook Primary School Grade 5 student Juliet Ralston and Cohuna Consolidated School Grade 6 student Houssin Sobah.
Competition was fierce among three Grade 4 students, who continued for more than 30 minutes before Wesley took the prize. T
Support for the students came from families, teachers and principals.
