Ensuring learning for all

ST JOSEPH’S Primary School prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where faith, learning, and care for others are at the heart of everything they do.

They are committed to fostering a strong sense of community, promoting values of Respect for Self, Respect for Others amd Respect for the Environment.

St Joseph’s promotes a lifelong love of learning by providing a vast range of learning and extra curricula opportunities with the mantra ‘ensuring learning for all.’

With focus on developing the whole child, they strive to create confident, compassionate individuals who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.

The school is deeply rooted in the community and offers a range of opportunities for students to engage with local events and organisations.

Students frequently visit aged care facilities to read with residents and take part in programs like Meals on Wheels, Rotary Leadership and Lions Public Speaking fostering strong connections and a spirit of service and leadership.

Community engagement activities include the major fundraising event, the annual St. Joe’s Fete, a fun-filled celebration that brings together families, friends, and the wider community.

With a variety of activities, games, and delicious food, it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, support the school, and create lasting memories.

Parents and friends are welcome to join for events like the Foundation and New Families Breakfast, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day breakfasts, Grandparents Day and the School Advisory, which allows parents to get involved in their child’s school.

Parents play a vital role, and their support is greatly appreciated, whether it’s helping with the canteen or assisting at sporting events.

At St Joseph’s, goals are centred around nurturing the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of every student.

Principal Justin Colville said a strong faith foundation and lifelong learning is encouraged while supporting individual development.

“Our classrooms are equipped with the finest teachers and offer additional supports to each classroom,” he said.

“With learning support officers and the implementation of intervention programs across the school we aim to ensure we provide the very best for our students.

“St Joseph’s Primary School is one of 51 Catholic schools across the Sandhurst diocese to take up a unique innovative learning program. “Magnify Sandhurst is an evidence-informed science of learning school improvement initiative.

“The learning initiative focuses on how the brain learns and how literacy is effectively taught.

“It uses a low variance, knowledge-rich curriculum, and the creation of positive classrooms.

“Our practice is calm, predictable, and repeatable to maximise learning time in all classrooms.

“MAGNIFY Sandhurst is committed to every student, every teacher, every school, every day.

“We are excited about what the future holds for our school, teachers and more importantly our students.

“We’ve taken the next step toward transforming the way we approach learning and teaching, which is an exciting new approach we’ve adopted.”
