EXHIBITING at the Kerang show has been in Catherine Rosewall’s veins since she was just 13 years old.
Receiving enjoyment out of her hobbies which include needlework, cooking and gorgeous flowers, Ms Rosewall has spent years dedicated to exhibiting in the district and beyond.
Last week she was “very excited” to hear her black beauty rose, had won her the title of the Champion Rose Exhibit at the Kerang and District Agricultural Society Show.
“It’s a beautiful deep dark red, that just looks incredible,” she said.
This year Ms Rosewall exhibited 33 flower entries, with a total 50 entries spanning across the floral, cooking and needlework categories.
Overall, she took home 18 first place ribbons, 12 second place ribbons and two third place ribbons.
She said without exhibits, the local show wouldn’t exist.
“Exhibiting is a big part of being involved with the show and a great way to express your own interests and talents,” Ms Rosewall said.
“I would encourage anyone who wants to show the community their work to get involved.
“It’s also a great way to just show your support to the show, and have different goals to work towards creatively.”
Ms Rosewall said she also enjoys the process of being a part of the community event.
“I quite enjoy what I do, these three areas are my hobbies and it really is my own down time and way to just zone out,” she said.
“I also enjoy being able to have people walk past my home and see my garden and be inspired by the different flowers on display, or sharing my food with others once I’ve baked a cake for instance.
“It’s all in good fun and you feel quite accomplished too.”
