THERE was good weather for the opening of the 59th annual Barham Koondrook and District show on Friday.
While entries were slightly down this year, the two-day event drew decent numbers and went off without a hitch, show society president Graham Minnes said.
A trial skating competition at Barham’s new skate park saw some impressive performances, particularly in the scooter category.
Younger showgoers were also entertained by Professor Wallace’s Puppet Theatre and a simulated car racing experience with Rev it Up Racing, from Adelaide.
There was also a show and shine classic car show, whip cracking demonstrations, a mobile zoo and sideshow stalls, as well as livestock and pavilion competition events.
Mr Minnes said the show’s finale fireworks display was an impressive one.
“It gives people the opportunity to come along and socialise and enjoy the evening,” Mr Minnes said.
“Overall, this year’s event was a good solid show.”
