Cohuna roundabout and parking works set to go

WORK to install a roundabout at the intersection of Tennis Road and Cohuna Island Road is set to begin in coming weeks, with speed reductions and lane closures to be put in place.

The project to improve vehicle access to Cohuna’s Apex Park and the town recreation reserve will reduce parking while it is under way.

Work on additional car parking in Market Street, due to begin on Monday, will involve footpath closures.

Gannawarra Shire Council is creating extra parking spaces close to the Cohuna neighbourhood house near the intersection of Channel Street.

“These works will create extra accessibility parking spaces for those wanting to access services in this area, making it safer for pedestrians and motorists,” chire chief executive Tom O’Reilly said.

“The contractors employed to undertake these works will directly contact residents and businesses whose properties will be directly impacted by these improvements.”

“Council thanks motorists and pedestrians for their patience as these works are completed.”

The Market Street parking is expected to be finished by the end of next month.
