Council announces service change

NUMEROUS changes to Gannawarra Shire Council’s services are in place as staff assist emergency service personnel with the flood emergency impacting the municipality.
 
Changes to council services at this time include:

  • Gannawarra Library Service branches at Kerang and Leitchville are closed until further notice. External book chutes at these locations will remain open, with all overdue items renewed. Residents can continue to access the library service’s online resources at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/libraries;
  • The Gannawarra Shire Children’s Centre is closed until further notice;
  • The Kerang Exercise Pool will close at 2pm Monday, 17 October until further notice;
  • Home carecommunity access and property maintenance services provided by Council’s Community Care team will be postponed until further notice;
  • Council’s Social Meals program will be postponed until further notice;
  • The Gannawarra L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program will be postponed until further notice;
  • The Gannawarra Non-Emergency Transport Service (GNETS) will be postponed until further notice;
  • Victorian Seniors Festival events will be postponed until further notice; and
  • The Lalbert Transfer Station will be closed until further notice.

Due to flood impacts, kerbside collection service will not operate shirewide until further notice. The Kerang, Cohuna and Quambatook transfer stations will be open for the community to dispose of household rubbish and recycling.
