Show health checks a sign of the times

PRIORITISING health and wellbeing was an important element at this year’s Cohuna Show.

Nurses from Cohuna District Health were on hand, providing health checks to showgoers.

This marked the first year the hospital has undertaken a health promotion role at the show, and the service proved to be very successful, with more than 100 people signing up for a health check during the two-day event.

The nurses provided blood glucose and blood pressure checks, GP referral advice and provided information relating to COVID, providing free masks and rapid antigen tests.

They also provided participants with show bags, packed with health information, resources and goodies.

Meanwhile, staff from Bendigo Health were also on hand at the event, providing COVID immunisations.
