Power in regional hands

THE Nationals’ plan puts power back where it belongs – in the hands of regional Victorians.

Under our renewables policy, land owners will regain the right to appeal to the “third umpire” on projects.

We will also put in place a 2km buffer between homes and wind turbines.

You’ll be protected and have a voice – Labor’s new VicGrid Bill does the opposite.

It hands itself sweeping powers for officials to enter land owner’s property without consent.

Under the bill, landholders who obstruct access could face fines of more than $12,000, while businesses could be fined more than $48,000.

It’s a draconian overreach and an attack on your rights and livelihood.

The Nationals will continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with regional Victorians.

If elected next year, we will repeal this bill. You will regain your voice – and your rights.

Deputy Leader, The Nationals
