The local Baptist Church is streaming their services live on Facebook on Sundays at 10.30am, organised by Aleisha Pryor.

Rosanna and David at the Eternity Centre have been streaming live performances on Facebook at 10am, while the Anglican Church is putting up videos from Rev Sue on Facebook.

Ladies from across Kerang and district meet monthly at the Kerang Uniting Church to sew and put together sanitary packs for ladies overseas called Stitches for Dignity. The leader of this group is Sue Keath and they recommenced their get-togethers as of yesterday, June 25 at 10am.

On Friday, June 19, Sporties announced that they would open their doors on July 20.

The very next day, things changed in the restrictions, but the change will not affect that opening date, unless, of course, something happens between now and then. When they do open, let’s hope that patrons comply with restrictions to give us all the chance to enjoy a meal and some social time within guidelines.

Maurie Credlin has broken a wing and will be in plaster for about six weeks.

The word is that he was pushed off some scales by Harry Sambrooks!? Thought Eric Wilson or Lindsay Hein would have been there to catch him.

Local lady, Jackie Pay, has been training dogs in Kerang for 20 years.

Sunday afternoons at 3pm down in Nancarrow Park is the spot to be with your dog, to get some expert tuition in dog handling.

Classes have also been available in Lake Boga for a couple of years also. That’s a great effort Jackie and happy 20th anniversary.

With local footy not on the cards this year, a question to be asked is do the local footballers miss footy?

I asked Kerang champion player Brad Pay, and his reply was “not really”. Brad seems to think it’s quite pleasant having his weekends and week nights to himself. Reckon if it started up again though, Brad would love a game.

And of course Carlton won last week. What’s going on? Now Geelong will say that “they aren’t that good”. Yep, we know that, but at least Bradley Wolfe will be happy.

We also know that Geelong aren’t that good, as Alistair Clarkson said that.

Then there was the false positive test that proved to be true negative…. Or are they positive that the true negative wasn’t positive?

The affects of the COVID-19 virus on the local footy competitions hasn’t just prevented matches being played, but it has seen some premiership reunions being cancelled. These reunions can be a great money spinner for local clubs, with reunion participants returning to the club to socialise with teammates from previous years.

A couple of reunions this year would have been Macorna’s 1970 victory, Cohuna’s 1990 win, and Kerang and Wandella’s 2010 teams.

Premierships from the past…. Ah, how good were we back then? Getting better with each reunion.

Robert Jarman and Dale Spinks usually get together for morning tea on a Saturday to organise their quaddie. Seems that Dale was side-tracked, thinking it was 11.45, and with bowls assembly at 12.45, he was an hour out.

So Dale had to play bowls without lunch that day. If he was short of the kitty, it was due to low energy levels.

A Kerang builder who is known for his fishing abilities, usually goes out with his mate. As his friend couldn’t go, our fishing builder asked his lovely wife to go with him to Lake Charm to catch some reddies. They caught 15 keepers and Leanne out-fished him 13 to 2.

She can fix it, yes she can.
