Down at Every Stitch Counts, Suzette Lehmann is producing face masks. It’s great to see a local taking the initiative. Many at home will be producing their own masks, but Suzette is giving an option for those who can’t or don’t sew.

Suzette has help from partner Russell Bott.

It seems that Botty has gone from dairy farming to pattern cutter-outerer. See! Farmers can put their hand to anything.

The old bloke turned 61 last week. He is still playing cricket, and could play a bit of footy in his day too, by heck.

SPEAKING of face masks, as yet our “remote country areas” don’t have to wear them. When we are instructed to wear masks, let’s just do it, rather than complain.

So far the Gannawarra Shire has done extremely well. Let’s keep doing the right thing and stay on top of it.

BARHAM Bakery is having a weekly special. The previous two weeks have been a chocolate and sticky date cake with caramel fudge icing, and a chocolate mud cake the week before. Yum!

It would be great if we could nip over the border and take advantage of this, but I’m sure the Barham folk are right into it.

LOCAL footy clubs are being quite active on Facebook.

The Kerang Footy Club has been selling their big draw tickets and getting ready for the first draw this Thursday night, July 30.

Tickets can be purchased and ticket numbers selected on the club’s Facebook page. Gotta be in it to win it!

MACORNA netballers have been giving a few tips and are attempting to keep club members in contact.

They had a clean-out of their footy clubrooms the other day and found a number of footy bags with gear still in them from their last home match. It seems that getting to the refreshments was more important than looking after the gear. Wouldn’t want to be opening those bags!

The Macorna big draw will be in August.

Another competition they have had is to send in a clip singing the Tiger club song. This was a big hit for the club with the winner, you guessed it, from the Wishart family.

WANDELLA have been doing their weekly big draws on Facebook.

A couple of comments from club members have been choice. One such comment instructed Ned Pay to bend over, following the president pulling on some rubber gloves. You had to be there obviously.

SAW Rob Algie in the street last week and had a quick chat. It appears impossible to walk past this bloke without him having a friendly dig at you. We played a bit of basketball together quite a while ago.

Robin is an active member of the Kerang Clay Target Club, holding down the secretary-treasurer role.

The club is holding their AGM pretty soon.

This is another club that has been affected by the COVID-19 virus.

They held a shoot in July with good numbers, social distancing taking place and as yet the club hasn’t heard of any new instructions to change for next month’s shoot. Of course, Robin hopes it will all go ahead unheeded.

EVERYONE is pretty busy down at Kerang District Health with all the restrictions they face.

The staff is handling the situation in an efficient and respectful manner, as they have 30-odd of our older generation in their care.

All the very best to all at the hospital.

A PASSER-by noticed Dale Spinks talking to Bruce Wright out the front of Autopro on a cold morning last week.

Now Dale was rugged up with hat, coat, scarf and gloves, whereas Lefty obviously didn’t get the memo that it was only five degrees. He was in his shorts, polo top, short socks and joggers.

There is a saying about no feeling, but I can’t remember it.
