Phil, the owner of the Kerang Clearance Warehouse, also runs a shop in Barham.
He has a bit of a problem at the moment as he resides on his farm outside the Koondrook “area” so he is not permitted to cross the bridge to run his business in Barham.
That’s why he is in the Kerang shop.
It’s all a bit strange coming from an area with no cases then wanting to go into an area with no cases and still not being allowed over the bridge. Some pretty strange days there Phil, but it’s something we will all have to cope with.

A bloke who always gives a big, happy wave as he drives past is Phil Davies.
Phil was a bit late with the wave last week. Don’t think he recognised the head with a mask on.

Speaking of masks, which became compulsory as of last week, how come I saw three people in the street that day without a mask? One actually came into a shop.
I didn’t know these people and I don’t want them to get the virus, but they are increasing their chances…. and ours.
It’s not that hard is it?
Hopefully all our local retailers don’t get blamed if they are forced to inform someone coming into their shop who isn’t wearing a mask of the rules.
Let’s not complain about it, and make sure we all wear one for everyone’s safety, including our own.

A local bloke who is always up for a joke and who wished to remain anonymous, although his name is Max Maclean, has found a loophole in the mask-wearing rules.
Daniel Andrews states “every single person” must wear a mask. Max figures he doesn’t have to wear one as he is married.
To all those considering using this as a defence, don’t, it’s just a joke.

Darren Marsh is getting around a bit now since his medical episode a while ago, although he has lost a yard or two from his footy playing days.
He says that he is becoming more domesticated now and is increasing his contribution in the kitchen.
Hopefully, for the sake of his partner Kaye and the kids, his cooking is up to the required standard.

The Macorna Football Club was scheduled to hold its 50 year reunion of the 1970 premiership on this coming weekend.
As the virus has prevented a get-together from going ahead, a member of that team has produced a reunion book celebrating each player of the team.
Keith den Houting has put together a wonderful book that will be greatly valued by team members and their families. All past players or families of past players were contacted and contributed to this book.

Keiran Strachan, the son of former Pyramid Hill-based couple Leon and Lynley (Mills) played his first game for Adelaide in the AFL on Saturday, August 1.
Keiran got his break as Tex Walker was crook and played up forward and in the ruck.
Pretty talented family as Keiran’s two sisters played netball at the very top level, representing Australia.

Rodney Caldwell’s son Jye, is in his second year with the GWS Giants. Rodney played for Murrabit back in the late 70’s early 80’s
Jye has been averaging 14 disposals, three marks, three tackles and two clearances in his five games played this season.

The wrong Daniher name was put in this column recently. Anthony was mentioned when it should have been his son Joe.
Anthony could play a bit, as can Joe, but the problem with both careers is we didn’t see either of them on the ground enough. Speaking in the past tense, I’m probably shutting down Joe’s career already.
