SO the NBN was fixed up for the businesses on the south side of Wellington Street. The poor old suckers on the north side still haven’t had a lot of luck with their NBN though. Still waiting.
You’d think that the job would be done by now.
WHILE on that type of thing, there has been a lot of electrical work going on in town.
One problem with this I noticed recently is that residential areas are being fixed up on the weekend and businesses are being repaired during the week.
Wouldn’t you think that it could be done the other way around, so businesses could have power during the week and don’t have to close? That would mean no power for residential when homeowners are at work but full supply when they are home on the weekend.
WITH Easter coming up it is sure to be a busy weekend in the local district.
The Quamby tractor pull is on and, hopefully, will attract the usual large crowd.
Then there are all the local tennis and bowls tournaments in towns throughout the region. It’s gotta be good when we get extra people into the country towns.
It would have been great for the Cohuna township if their Good Friday match against Woorinen was at home.
Hope everyone can have a wonderful Easter, all stay safe, catch up with family and friends and can celebrate what Easter means to them.
DID I hear that Mark ‘Ox’ Roberts has been seen back in the state recently?
Ox has been way up the NT looking after kids and running a camp or two for Scripture Union.
The big fella played a bit of footy in the local district, starting at Koondrook before they became the Raiders, so yeah, we’re talking a few years ago. He got to play in a Koondrook premiership, too.
All the very best, Ox. Hope that Karen and the girls are well.
KRISTY and Jenalle, the friendly folk at Kerang and Swan Hill Optical must be busy, as they were both in Kerang last week. They usually take it in turns to visit Kerang, so they must have been extra busy.
Great job, folks.
ONE local bloke wasn’t asleep on the job when he interrupted some youngsters who were causing a bit of trouble down at Riverside Park recently.
It’s wonderful to see folks in our community keeping an eye on local property. This bloke surprised them late at night on the way back from the farm.
KAREN Dalley and old mate Colleen Scriven were having a bit of quiet time and a bite to eat outside the Royal the other day.
It’s pretty good that we can all get out and about and have a get-together now that all restrictions have eased off.
Barman Peter Colville attended to the ladies and, of course, gave a mouthful of cheek to an innocent passer-by.
FORMER local, now living in Darwin with lovely wife Aimee, is Matt Wilkinson. Matt is meant to be coming back to have the occasional kick with Wandella this year.
With it being quite damp up that way, it seems Wilko got his little truck wet up to its nose, which stopped the truck. Being the keen fisherman he is, like his mum and dad, he had the rod with him and caught a decent Barra instead.
Explain that again, Matt?
I imagine him sitting in his truck in the middle of flood water with the rod sticking out the window.
WITH footy having started, that means that we are all checking the local scores on our phones.
Must admit that I had a bit of trouble for the first CMFNL round, but after having a decent attempt during the week, we should be totally up with all scores from now on.
Miss having the footy record in the back pocket!
