Who did Komment bump into this week?

Dropped into Cohuna last week and ran into old mate Keith Harrison at J&R Cooke Trading.

Keith is one of the friendly staff at the Mitre 10 place and is always keen to help.

The (not so) young fella played a bit of footy with Mitiamo in his early days. He also had a bit of a trot later in his footy career with Eaglehawk. Great to catch up, Keith.

The trip to Cohuna was to check out the new premises of Cohuna Auto Electrical. They’ve moved into the old Reid Plumbing spot on Western Road and have been working on a new showroom. Word is that a door to the showroom had to be made wide enough to fit Brendan’s Moke.

Katie and Brendan have been pretty busy and have the place looking brilliant.

Because of this, Reid Plumbing has moved to the shed out the back and will still be doing all the usual plumbing jobs. Paul, Trish and the team have it all under control.

While over in Cohuna there were good intentions of catching up with Daniel Cooke and the Mitre 10 store, but he has escaped north and is up Noosa way with his family.

The word is he’ll be back visiting this week. Good on you, Dan, and all the best.

Current Kerang Football Netball Club president Scott Clingan works over in Cohuna and most likely took over Robbie Walsh’s spot once he retired.

Always cool, calm and collected, I wonder how Scotty’s nerves will be leading up to the Blues match against the Cohuna Kangas in a couple of weeks. It’s a healthy rivalry and both teams will be looking to grab the top spot.

There has been a few folk missing from sporting clubs due to the flu and COVID. The flu is probably the worst thing as those who have had it have spent some time not too far from the toilet.

Now the reason I’m mentioning this is that one team recorded a record-breaking victory over another, kicking something like 66 goals.

It’s an interesting scoreline, but the fact that it was reported as a big win, rather than a great effort by the losing team to even get a team on the ground is a bit sad. The effort by the losing team should have been the story.

Some local teams have had a few players out also, but at least we are getting footy

Des Shelley has racked up 784 matches as an umpire and after counting through the draw, Des will need to do all matches plus a couple of finals to reach the 800 mark.

The Saturday and Sunday finals should help him, and, of course, in that time he has never been wrong.

We’ve said that before, but maybe we were wrong. Nah, never.

Melbourne supporters and members Howard and Judy McClelland consistently go down to watch their team. One would have thought that it is getting boring, but, according to Aldo, most definitely not.

They do keep winning pretty well and as the old fella says, they are in a pretty good position at this stage of the year.
