Komment with the latest take on his week

ONE Judy McClelland is not happy with Kurl, as last issue while mentioning husband Howard, I inadvertently grouped Judy as a Melbourne supporter with a group going to watch Melbourne take on the Saints.

Aldo usually goes to watch his Dees with Noel Robby and Fonze.

Judy, it must be awful for someone to make such assumptions.

So sorry, Judy!

Judy has a soft spot for a team that played finals last year, have been in the news a bit and probably look like getting an early draft pick this year.

Most of the hotels in the district seem to be coming out with their new winter menus.

All the pubs in Barham, Cohuna, Kerang, Pyramid Hill and Mystic are doing a great job with their meals.

Probably see you at one of them soon.

It seems that Chookeyes and the fishing gang got their feet a bit wet while up at Pooncarie.

No fish, (so that’s why they haven’t dropped any in), nearly bogged, but a good social time would have been had by all.

There is a couple of other fishing crews that have gone up north of Australia to get away from a bit of cold weather in northern Victoria.

Hopefully they all have a happy and successful trip.

Speaking of fishing, Daryl Neil likes to think he is a pretty good fisherman, and has the pictures of his catches to prove it.

The thing is that his son, Lachie, has probably out-fished his dad recently. Lachie has dragged in a couple of lovely cod over the past month or two.

It must be brought to everyone’s attention that Lachie is beating the old man one-handed.

Good on you, Lachie.

Ken Jenkins, the former editor of the Gannawarra Times, hasn’t been seen around lately.

As with a lot of retired folk, they seem to be busier since they retired than they were when they were working. Just wondering if that’s a slight on their work ethic?

KJ and wife Anne have been up north visiting daughter Emma and hubby Ryan. Obviously a great trip as they welcomed a new grandchild, Florence, while they were up there.

Congrats to all.

Ron Peck got a wonderful mention last week in the paper following his VCFL medal presentation earlier in the season at Kerang’s first home match.

Looking at the honour board, Ron has saved the sign writers a lot of effort over his tenure as treasurer over the years. R. Peck is the shortest name on the honour board along with E. Lake, S. Filo and A. Gray. It was up there for a while as R.H. Peck, but obviously a decision was made because everyone knows who it is.

Great job, Ron, congratulations on the medal.

Val Ilsley is seen out in the garden neatening up the hedge at the front of her place. Smiley face.

Pretty soon you will see her out the front getting rid of all the leaves. Not so smiley face.
