The U3A mob had their Christmas lunch at the Sporties last week and it looked like Keith den Houting was minding the door.
Keith is always happy to say hello and usually mentions that he shouldn’t be talking to me. Ever heard of a red flag to a bull Keith?
Hope that everyone had a great time. All the best to all.
The Barham Angling Club held their annual fishing day last a couple of weekends ago. Because they aren’t permitted on the Murray, they had to hold the fishing competition on Lake Charm.
I have heard that Dana Fowler caught three reddies, so that probably means they weren’t biting that well. Gary and Judy Wilkinson didn’t catch a feed, Dave Whitehead also missed taking anything home, and Gav Tarr only caught one. A few others had no luck also. Bet they all had fun though.
Caught up with Glenn Bartels at Chick and Stace’s the other day. Glen is probably in right now getting his knee replaced.
Glenn played lots of top footy in his day at Pyramid Hill and also had a stint in the Bendigo league for a while.Hope that it all goes as well as expected.
Just across the back of the lane is Dan Stubbs, who is in the Morton Maconachie building.
Morto still comes in and lends a hand occasionally.
Stubbsy said his model train is still on the go but the water that we have had around recently has made the track a bit dodgy.
Hope your keeping busy, Dan.
Wonder how the Windies would go if they won a toss? Would likely still come second.
Khawaja’s lbw? Gutsy call by the umpire – around the wicket. Logical review by Usman. Ended up all well. Good decision, good review – that was lost though
An Aussie tennis player claims he’s the best in the world – results indicate not. He thinks we hate him. Some do, some don’t – that’s sport right there.
Then there is the AFL’s “Gather Round” on April 13 to 16 in Adelaide. One game being played in the Adelaide Hills. Good on ‘em. Dunno. Might get back to this on April 17.
Warny up to legend status. Great call.
Peter Norman awarded the Dawn Award. If you don’t know of him, look it up. 1968 Olympics. Showing my age, I remember it well. Brilliant.
