Dropped in to see Heidi and Adrian at the Four Posts in Jarklin the other week and who should be there but my old teammate, Robert Moon.
Moony is the community-minded fellow who manages the bar at the Pyramid Hill Football Netball Club and loves a bit of a chat.
Of course, we reminisced about old times at Yarrawalla as if they were glory days. They were good days. Great catch-up, Moony.
Also at the watering hole in Jarklin was Mark Baker who is doing a bit of work to get the place up a running again.
They have all been quite busy there and it’s worth dropping in for a coffee or something else as it is becoming quite the community spot.

It was great to see that the River Raiders footy club annual lilo race on the Murray way back on Australia Day.
Seems the Raiders have picked up a couple of star players for the footy season. Will Callow and the team are working hard to move up the ladder for 2023 and should be fairly happy with their selections so far that should see them improve.
Cohuna is another team that should improve having lost one or two but picked up three or four. Yep, it’s a numbers game at this stage of the year and all hope that those numbers are quality.
Would love to see the three southern teams lead the pack this year.

The Athol Stevens triples tournament was held last week with bowlers attending this brilliant event from all parts of the state.
I have heard that Athol even got down to the club to have a bit of a look at the event also. Something like 350 bowlers attended.
A few comments were that the greens at the Kerang Bowling Club are as good as any in the state. We are aware of that.
Of course, the quality of these greens is just about matched by those at the Kerang Golf Bowls Club and Cohuna as well.
Barham has the synthetic greens which is becoming quite popular. The local area is known for its excellent greens, with many coming to play in our tournaments to experience the lovely bowling surface.
Have been informed by one learned bowling local that there is a bit of history of the Kerang Tifdwarf greens on the left of the main entrance to the Kerang Bowling club. All the greens originated from two little squares of turf from Byron Bay way back in 1970. Interesting.
Keep in mind that Moff does a great job of the KBC greens.
