Michelle Goddard has been a busy lady organising the Federation North West Tour.
This tour is run by the Federation of Vintage Veteran and Classic Vehicle Club, of which Michelle happens to be the state minutes secretary.
Approximately 40 cars will be arriving in Kerang at the end of August, stopping a couple of nights and touring the local area.
This should be a boon for the local community, with all entrants staying two nights in the town at local accommodation, dining and getting fuel, then moving on to Swan Hill, back through Cohuna to Echuca then Shepparton.
The local tennis tournament in Kerang had something like 100 more entries for their Easter tournament than in previous years so we heard.
Murrabit’s Easter Tennis Tournament is also a fun get-together and they would have had another successful tournament.
It was all happening over Easter in Cohuna, with their tennis and bowls tournaments always wonderful events, as well as the footy that was on Good Friday.
The Kerang Easter Cup meeting was also a successful day with the track looking a picture and the extra acceptances made for an eight-race card.
On Good Thursday – that’s the Thursday before Easter – the Kerang Primary School had a bit of a T-Ball tournament against the teachers.
The lady who runs the school from administration, Kirstyn, was thinking she would wear high heels to school that day so she had an excuse not to participate. Turns out she forgot about the competition and ended up wearing sandals. The problem is the kids would probably insist you she get involved either way.
Another of Kirstyn’s problems was to ensure that the school’s defib was fully charged as principal Brenton may also decide to have a bit of a go.
Hope the students had a fun day and whopped the teachers.
Journo Nathan Spicer is heading off to Bendigo to do a bit of sports journalism for the Addy. All the best Nathan and hope that you get the right days for any night game, or is it the right night for any day games?
