Police beat April 5

Speed and drugs

Swan Hill Highway Patrol detected a vehicle travelling in excess of 165km/h on the Leitchville-Kerang Road at Macorna North.

Upon intercepting the vehicle on March 23, a 46-year-old Keysborough man returned a positive drug test.

It’s alleged the male driver was driving under the influence of drugs after methamphetamine and MDMA was detected in his system.

He will appear in court at a later date.Investigation ongoing

Missing person search

Gannawarra police and SES volunteers commenced a search for a missing person on March 22.

During the search, a deceased person was found in the Gunbower Creek.

Victoria Police Search and Rescue Squad members attended the area and removed the body.

Police investigations are continuing into the cause of death and the identity of the deceased.

Theft

A dirt bike was stolen from the rear of a house at Murrabit.

The orange 2009 KTM 450 bike has a distinctive tear on the seat.

The offence occurred between March 20 and 27 at a Kerang-Murrabit Road address.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Stolen bank card

A female has attempted to withdraw cash from a Kerang ATM on two separate occasions, after allegedly stealing a bank card.

Police said the owner of the card was unaware how the offender obtained the card.

Police are urging residents to ensure they secure their cards at all times.

The incidents took place on March 17 and 24.

Indecent language

A female was issued with a penalty notice for using indecent language.

The incident took place at RSL Drive in Kerang on March 22.Missing caravan

Gannawarra police are seeking information in relation to a caravan which was reported as stolen from the river track area of Koondrook on March 25.

The caravan is a 2008 Supreme Tracker model and was last seen in the Cohuna area, being towed by a grey Mitsubishi Triton ute.
