Vital equipment stolen from SES unit

KERANG SES unit controller Glyndia Gee and her crew have been left rattled by the recent theft of lifesaving equipment.

It’s alleged strobe lights were stolen from the SES truck on April 14 while the team were having a coffee break in town.

“This isn’t cool, it’s quite an emergency really and sad that someone would steal from the SES,” Ms Gee said.

“The strobe lights are meant to protect us when we’re cutting people out of vehicles.

“They’re of huge value to the unit.

“And you never know if we might need them to assist you or your family one day.”

The lights were previously stolen some years ago and the SES team had to fundraise to cover the costs of the replacement.

Ms Gee said they could be returned to the unit or to police, “no questions asked”.
