Disgruntled patron elbows licensee

A DISGRUNTLED patron will be banned from a Cohuna hotel after allegedly assaulting a licensee, elbowing him in the head on July 14.

Kerang police said the violent incident happened about 7.50pn on July 14 when the patron became disgruntled with a licensee after checking his behaviour.

“The alleged offender has pushed the licensee and also elbowed him in the head,” a police spokesperson said.

“The offender has left a short time later. The offender wanted to apologise for his disgraceful behaviour, but it was too late.

“His behaviour is completely unacceptable.”

Police said the offender was identified and would be interviewed.

Can thrown at woman

A MAN allegedly threw a can of beer at a woman he recently acquainted.

The female victim requested police help about 10.30pm on July 14 after the man assaulted her.

The woman told officers the male acquaintance attended a caravan park, where a verbal argument took place.

He then threw a can of beer at the female.

The man has been identified and Victoria Police will prepare a report to NSW Police for them to interview the offender.

Unlicensed diver’s high speed evasion

POLICE remanded a man in custody after the unlicensed driver evaded police at high speed in Kerang on July 10.

Police observed the man driving a blue vehicle in Scoresby Street, Kerang, about 11am.

Police knew of the unlicensed driver and attempted to intercept before he sped off at high speed.

The vehicle was located sometime later and seized.

The offender was located the following day.

He was arrested and remanded in custody to face court.
