Officer ‘kicked’

A POLICE officer intervening in an assault at Kerang was allegedly kicked in the leg multiple times.

Police said they attended a Dunlop Street address last Wednesday to investigate a report of two intoxicated young females.

After being asked to remain inside, it is alleged one of the girls took one of the officers’ glasses and threw them.

Police said that soon after, a loud commotion was heard inside, and officers entered to keep the peace and observed an assault in progress.

It is alleged when intervening in the assault, an officer was kicked in the leg multiple times.

The two females will be interviewed regarding the assault of an emergency service worker.


False reporting

POLICE executed a search warrant at a Lilac Avenue address in Kerang last Wednesday in relation to multiple false reports being made to police.

Electronic devices were seized from the address and a man was arrested and interviewed, allegedly making full admissions. He was bailed to appear in court in Kerang.

 


Bike and trailer stolen

A HONDA quad bike and the trailer it was attached to have gone missing.

Police said they had been left unattended near Worsley Road, Tragowel, on October 14 by a farmer.

When the farmer returned the next day, both were gone. Police are asking for assistance about the whereabouts of the bike and trailer.
