Police report – June 11, 2024

Theft from vehicles

RESIDENTS in Cohuna have been urged by police not to leave cash inside vehicles after a spate of thefts from vehicles.

Police said offenders gained entry to a locked vehicle in William Street between 2am and 4am on May 29.

A wallet and tools were taken.

“It appears that this incident is part of a series of thefts in the Cohuna area,” a police spokesman said.

“There were three other thefts from motor vehicles on the same night in the Cohuna area.”

It is believed the offenders fled to Echuca after these crimes.

Police are appealing to anyone with CCTV footage of the affected vehicles or people lurking about in the early hours of May 29.

Unhappy neighbour

A NEIGHBOUR has damaged a fence by kicking it at a Kerang property.

The incident happened at Murray Street on May 27.

Police are gathering further evidence to speak to the alleged offender.

Police abuse

AN off-duty police officer was verbally abused as they were walking to work last month.

The male offender was seated in the passenger seat of his mother’s car, driving in Victoria Street, on May 16.

He yelled out using obscene language and abused the off-duty police officer who was on their way to work.

The officer has since been issued a penalty notice to the offender.
